Before Roger Fleming’s father was killed by Soviet agents, who ran the pair off a lonely country road, he used his secretly developed formula designed to give the recipient access to the unused 90 percent of the brain on the toddler.<br/>Found by a farmer who adopted him, young Roger was given the name Lancelot Strong.<br/>Roger, or Lancelot did not discover his powers until after he had joined the army where he found that along with being incredibly strong he could also develop almost any ability he concentrated on, from flight and “radar sense” to being able to rearrange his molecules to make himself lighter, and so run faster, or as hard as steel, he then dedicated himself to fighting communism as The Shield.
